In Texas alone,  according to ballotpedia.org, there are 97 specials of plants and animals that are close to becoming extinct. According to ww.f.panda.org, each year, 0.1% of species in the world will become extinct. Many animals have been put into sanctuaries for animalism zoos, and wild life preservation but there are still tons of animals that roam the city of Dallas. There needs to be an effort by there people of Dallas in order to keep these animals safe and not to destroy their habitats.  Creating nature preserves is a step in the right direction. For example, in Plano Texas, there is a nature preserve called Arbor Hills that houses animals from birds to armadillos to snakes to deer and many more. Its 200 acres of land is split into three different ecosystems, Blackland Prairie, Riparian Forest, and Upland Forest.
