Nature once dominated the world but humans have been effecting nature thousand of years. Humans have been destroying ecosystems by cutting down trees, getting rid of plants, and by sending carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Plants are vital for the existence of humans because plants take in carbon dioxide and convert it into oxygen which humans need to breath. For the sake of humans and animals, there needs to be an effort to conserve plants. Along with oxygen, plants are a source of food, medicine, and even shelter. For example, 20% of the worlds oxygen comes from the amazon rainforest. The amazon also has the highest concentration of species and a good portion of the worlds water comes from the amazon basin. According to "The Guardian," there is "rampant deforestation" in the area. It is vital that we as humans put aside our economic greed in order to preserve the Amazon Rainforest and the rest of the plants that provide so much for humans and animals.
